Location — UI/UX design agency for US-based software companies.
Lumixel Studio is a senior-led product design studio serving US software companies. We work with founders, heads of product, and engineering leads at SaaS, fintech, healthcare, cybersecurity, and B2B startups across the US, from Series A in New York to scaling teams in San Francisco, with the same model and the same senior involvement on every engagement.
We're remote-and-global by design, which is how most US software companies actually want to work in 2026. The studio is small on purpose: the senior who pitches is the senior who leads every week. Fixed-fee sprints in USD, standard US contracting paperwork, full timezone overlap with both coasts.
Lumixel is a senior-led UI/UX design agency for US software companies, fintech, healthcare, cybersecurity, and B2B SaaS, running 6-week fixed-fee sprints from $10K to $50K+ in USD, with overlap hours for both East and West Coast teams.

Why US software teams work with us.
Three reasons US clients pick a studio like Lumixel over a New York or San Francisco agency:
- Senior presence at startup-friendly rates. Senior judgment without senior-agency overhead. A Lumixel sprint costs about a third of an equivalent Bay Area agency engagement at the same seniority level.
- No junior handoff. The senior who pitches is the senior in your standups. US agencies often pitch a partner and deliver with juniors, we're small on purpose so that swap can't happen.
- Time-boxed engagements that actually finish. 6-week sprints, fixed-fee, real handoff. Not a quarterly retainer that drifts.

Sectors we work with in the US.
Our US client base concentrates in four verticals:
- Fintech. Payments, lending, banking infrastructure, KYC. New York and Bay Area are the obvious hubs. See fintech UX design.
- Healthcare. Clinical platforms, patient portals, EHR, telehealth, digital therapeutics. Boston, Bay Area, and increasingly Nashville. See healthcare UX design.
- Cybersecurity. SIEM, EDR, SOAR, security analytics. Bay Area, Austin, DC corridor. See cybersecurity dashboard design.
- B2B SaaS. Productivity, internal tools, vertical SaaS. Distributed across every major US tech hub. See B2B SaaS design.

How we work with US teams across time zones.
We schedule overlap hours for both coasts, early afternoon ET works well for full-team syncs, late-morning PT works for Bay Area standups. Async communication handles the rest: Slack or Linear for daily updates, Loom for design walkthroughs, Notion or shared docs for decision logs.
Most US engagements run with one or two live syncs per week plus continuous async. The Friday demo is the rhythmic anchor, every Friday at a time that works for your team. Same time, every week, for six weeks.

Pricing and billing in USD.
All US engagements quoted, contracted, and billed in USD. Sprint pricing is fixed-fee:
- Lite, $10K–$15K. Single platform, single role.
- Standard, $15K–$30K. Multi-platform or multi-role.
- Pro, $30K–$50K+. Multi-platform AND multi-role with full design system.
Above $50K is a custom retainer. Net 15 or net 30 invoice terms standard. We adapt to your standard US MSA and SOW paperwork, happy to review yours and align before kickoff.

US tech hubs and where we see demand.
US software demand for senior product design isn't uniform, different cities concentrate around different verticals:
- San Francisco Bay Area. Concentration of B2B SaaS, fintech infrastructure, cybersecurity (particularly cloud security), and AI-native products. Highest senior design talent competition; senior agency rates start at $80K-$150K per equivalent engagement.
- New York metro. Fintech-heavy (payments, banking infrastructure, wealth-tech, embedded finance), media-tech, and emerging healthtech. Strong agency landscape with rates comparable to Bay Area.
- Boston. Healthtech and life sciences SaaS, deep tech, and enterprise software. More research-oriented design culture; agencies tend to specialise in healthcare or biotech.
- Austin. Growing tech hub with strong B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, and developer tools concentration. More cost-competitive than coastal cities.
- DC corridor. Cybersecurity (particularly federal-adjacent), govtech, and regulated SaaS. Specific compliance requirements shape design.
- Distributed teams. Increasingly the modal US software company is distributed across multiple cities, with a smaller HQ. Design talent often hired remotely from smaller markets at compressed rates.

US hiring landscape for senior product design.
Hiring senior in-house product designers in the US takes longer than most teams expect:
- Senior IC designer (5+ years). 3-5 months from search start to first day. $180K- $240K base in Tier 1 markets; $140K-$190K in Tier 2. Sign-on bonuses common.
- Staff/Principal designer. 6-9 months typical. $220K-$320K base. Much harder to find in regulated verticals (fintech, healthcare).
- Head of design. 9-15 months. Multiple candidate rejections common. $280K-$400K+ base plus equity.
A Lumixel sprint engagement bridges this gap: senior judgment available now, fixed-fee scope, no hiring lead time. Often runs in parallel with an active search, landing structural decisions during the months before the hire arrives.

Recent work with US-adjacent teams.
Several US engagements are under NDA, common for fintech and cybersecurity work. Public case studies that share the same engagement model and design approach:
- FePay, fintech payments product with KYC and multi-role permissions.
- Benchmark, fintech B2B SaaS with design system foundation.
- Karaz Health, multi-stakeholder healthcare platform (engagement was Saudi Arabia, but the design pattern transfers directly to US healthcare contexts).
