Location — UX design for UAE and GCC startups.
Lumixel Studio is a senior-led product design studio serving UAE and GCC software companies. We work with founders, product leads, and engineering teams in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and across the Gulf, at fintech, healthcare, B2B SaaS, and consumer software startups building for regional and global markets.
The UAE has the fastest-growing tech startup ecosystem in the region, with the design-talent supply running behind demand. Senior product design, especially in fintech and healthtech, is increasingly imported. We're a remote-and-global studio that overlaps cleanly with Gulf business hours, with case-study experience in the region.
Lumixel is a senior-led product design studio for UAE and GCC startups, fintech, healthtech, B2B SaaS, and consumer apps, running 6-week fixed-fee sprints from $10K to $50K+ with full Gulf business-hours overlap and regional case-study experience.

Why UAE and GCC startups work with us.
Three reasons GCC teams pick a studio like Lumixel:
- Senior product design at GCC-friendly rates. Senior judgment without the import-cost premium that comes with hiring senior designers locally in the UAE or KSA. A Lumixel sprint is comparable to a mid-level full-time hire's monthly cost.
- Regional case-study experience. Karaz Health is our public Saudi Arabia engagement, diabetes care across multiple hospitals, and we understand how regional healthcare, fintech, and consumer products differ from Western contexts in UX expectations.
- Gulf time-zone overlap. Live syncs during UAE/KSA business hours. No 11pm calls. Native RTL design support where products serve Arabic- speaking users.

Sectors we work with in the UAE and GCC.
Four verticals where the regional ecosystem is growing fastest:
- UAE fintech. Payments, embedded finance, neobanks, and remittance products. DIFC and ADGM regulatory environments shape design specifically. See fintech UX design.
- Healthtech and digital health. Clinical platforms, patient portals, and chronic- disease management. Karaz Health is our public case study. See healthcare UX design.
- B2B SaaS. Productivity tools, internal platforms, and vertical SaaS serving Middle East markets. See B2B SaaS design.
- Consumer and lifestyle apps. Quick-commerce, super-apps, mobility, and consumer fintech with RTL/LTR design requirements.

How we work with UAE and GCC teams.
Live syncs scheduled during Gulf business hours. Standups, design reviews, and the weekly Friday demo all run at times that work for UAE, KSA, Bahrain, and Qatar teams. Async communication on Slack or Linear handles daily updates.
For products that serve Arabic-speaking users, we design RTL natively, not as an afterthought layer over a LTR design. Typography, iconography, and layout all shift to respect Arabic reading conventions. This is a real difference in regional UX bar.

Pricing and billing in AED or USD.
UAE and GCC engagements can be quoted, contracted, and billed in AED or USD. Sprint pricing in USD (AED equivalent on request):
- Lite, $10K–$15K. Single platform, single role.
- Standard, $15K–$30K. Multi-platform or multi-role.
- Pro, $30K–$50K+. Multi-platform AND multi-role with full design system. Common for fintech and healthtech engagements.
Above $50K is a custom retainer. We adapt to standard UAE contracting paperwork and work from your MSA template.

GCC tech hubs and where we see demand.
The Gulf tech ecosystem has matured rapidly. Where demand for senior product design concentrates:
- Dubai. Regional fintech hub, particularly in DIFC. Strong consumer apps (super-apps, quick-commerce, mobility), and emerging healthtech. Active VC scene with regional and global investors.
- Abu Dhabi. ADGM-regulated fintech, government technology, energy-tech and sustainability platforms. Sovereign wealth fund-backed startups increasingly visible.
- Riyadh. Saudi tech ecosystem growing fast under Vision 2030. Fintech, healthtech (Karaz Health is here), and consumer apps with strong local market focus.
- Doha. Smaller ecosystem with concentration in fintech and consumer products.
- Manama and Kuwait City. Smaller but active fintech sectors, often serving pan-GCC customers.
Regional pattern: rapid growth, senior design talent in short supply, often imported. The fully-remote global studio model fits this constraint well.

Designing for Arabic and bilingual markets.
Most GCC products serve both Arabic-speaking and English-speaking users. Design that respects this isn't a localisation layer:
- RTL as a first-class layout. Component variants designed in both directions from the start. Iconography handled (some icons flip, some don't, context-specific).
- Arabic typography. Type pairing that works in both scripts. Line-height and spacing adjusted for Arabic scripts. Numerals (Arabic-Indic vs Western) chosen based on user expectations.
- Mixed-direction handling. Numbers, dates, and Latin-script content within Arabic text need bidirectional handling. Phone number inputs, dates, currencies all need intentional design.
- Cultural design norms. Imagery, colour associations, formality bar, all differ from Western norms. Region-aware defaults matter.
- Calendar handling. Hijri vs Gregorian, weekly cadence differences (Friday-Saturday weekend in some markets), Ramadan-aware engagement design.

Recent work in the region.
- Karaz Health, diabetes care platform across Saudi hospitals. Four clinical surfaces (Doctor, Nurse, Educator, Patient) from one component set, web + mobile. Public Saudi Arabia case study.
Other GCC engagements are under NDA, happy to walk through anonymised examples on a discovery call. See selected work for the full list.
